What is google Adsense
Google AdSense is an
ad serving program run by
Google.
Website owners can enroll in this
program to enable text, image and, more recently, video
advertisements on their sites. These ads are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a
per-click or
per-thousand-impressions basis. Google is also currently beta-testing a
cost-per-action based service.
Google uses its search technology to serve ads based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted ad system may sign up through
AdWords. AdSense has become a popular method of placing advertising on a website because the ads are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the ads is often relevant to the website.
Currently, AdSense uses
JavaScript code to incorporate the advertisements into a participating site. If it is included on a site which has not yet been crawled by the
Mediabot, it will temporarily display advertisements for
charitable causes known as
public service announcements (PSAs). (The Mediabot is a separate
crawler from the
Googlebot that maintains Google's search index.)
Many sites use AdSense to
monetize their content. AdSense has been particularly important for delivering advertising revenue to small sites that do not have the resources for developing advertising sales programs and salespeople. To fill a site with ads that are relevant to the topics discussed, webmasters implement a brief script on the sites' pages. Sites that are content rich have been very successful with this advertising program, as noted in a number of publisher case studies on the AdSense site.
Some webmasters work hard to maximize their own AdSense income. They do this in three ways:
They use a wide range of traffic generating techniques including but not limited to online advertising.
They build valuable content on their sites which attracts AdSense ads which pay out the most when they get clicked.
They use
copy on their websites that encourage clicks on ads. Note that Google prohibits people from using phrases like "Click on my AdSense ads" to increase click rates. Phrases accepted are "Sponsored Links" and "Advertisements".
The source of all AdSense income is the AdWords program which in turn has a complex pricing model based on a
Vickrey second price auction, in that it commands an advertiser to submit a sealed bid (not observable by competitors). Additionally, for any given click received, advertisers only pay one bid increment above the second-highest bid.
History
The underlying technology behind AdSense was derived originally from
WordNet,
Simpli (a company started by the founder of Wordnet,
George A. Miller) and a number of professors and graduate students from
Brown University, including
James A. Anderson,
Jeff Stibel and
Steve Reiss.

AdSense for feeds
In
May 2005, Google announced a limited-participation beta version of AdSense for feeds, a version of AdSense that runs on
RSS and
Atom feeds that have more than 100 active subscribers. According to the Official Google Blog, "advertisers have their ads placed in the most appropriate feed articles; publishers are paid for their original content; readers see relevant advertising — and in the long run, more quality feeds to choose from".
[6]AdSense for feeds works by inserting images into a feed. When the image is displayed by the reader/
browser, Google writes the ad content into the image that it returns. The ad content is chosen based on the content of the feed surrounding the image. When the user clicks the image, he or she is redirected to the advertiser's site in the same way as regular AdSense ads.
AdSense for feeds has remained in its beta state ever since its original announcement. Only selected AdSense users have been allowed to sign up for it, and no more users are being admitted to the program.

AdSense for search
A companion to the regular AdSense program, AdSense for search lets website owners place Google search boxes on their pages. When a user searches the web or the site with the search box, Google shares any ad revenue it makes from those searches with the site owner. However the publisher is paid only if the ads on the page are clicked: Adsense does not pay publishers for mere searches.
AdSense for Mobile Content
AdSense for mobile content allows publishers to generate earnings from their mobile webpages using targeted Google ads. Just like AdSense for content, with AdSense for mobile content Google matches ads to the content of your site -- in this case, your mobile website.
Google Adsense detects fraud of click in the following way :
IP Address : It is the easiest and must be recognized by everyone. If those clicks on your ads are originated from the same IP Address as the one used for accessing your AdSense account, your account is flagged.
Cookies : Most home users do not use static IP Address for Internet connection. In most cases just disconnect and reconnect will give you a new IP Address. But don't forget, Google has set cookies on your computer. They can trace these cookies and see whether they originate from the same computer.
Physical Location : Google has good tracing software and technology.They can trace traffics origin down to the small town. So, using different computers with different IP address does not secure anything. So, don't try to click your ads in various Internet cafes. That will kill you.
Click Through Rate (CTR) : Normally, Click thru Rate should not excess 10%. Otherwise, Google will flag your account. For your information, normal CTR should ranges from 0.5% - 10%.
Search Engine Ranking : Your website is not indexed on any search engine, not linked by any prominent website, but get consistently high traffic? How come people can access your website and click your ads? That will make Google to smell a rat.
Webpage Design : How about the "Please click a link below" or "donate us by clicking the ads"? These kinds of encouragement is not in line with Google's TOS. Google can use their winning search engine, or even human eyes to check your sites from time to time.
Advertisers conversion rate : Ad click is one thing. But does it bring value to the advertisers? If none of the clicks on your site translate to conversion to the advertiser, you are in trouble. First the Smart-Pricing hits, then your AdSense account disabled.
Click Pattern 1 : It is also suspicious when people click on their clicks and then run away immediately (hit-and-run). But normally, people will surf for a while inside your pages and then click on the ads they want.
Click Pattern 2 : why this computer / IP address / person is so trigger-click-happy on this particular website but never click on the ads on other sites?
Click Pattern 3 : And why is it that people accessing these sites direct (type-in URL or from bookmark) tend to be very active ad-clickers compared with those referred from search engine or other sites?
Google AdSense Tips
AdSense Earning = Impression-count x Click-though-rate x Cost-per-click x smart-pricing-factor.
Impression count is basically referring to your traffic. It means the number of times AdSense block is displayed.
Click-through-rate (CTR) is ratio of clicks per impressions. It can range from 0.1% to 30%, but most commonly around 1% to 10%.
Cost-per-click (CPC) is the earning you get per click. While traditionally it refers to the amount advertisers pay for each click, it can also mean the amount publishers get for each click.
Smart-pricing is AdSense method to determine how valuable clicks from your site is worth. If clicks on your site doesn’t provide good value to advertisers, e.g. from visitors’ geo-location that seldom translate to sales, you will only get a fraction of the supposed CPC.
Apply for AdSense account via blogger.com for faster approval.
Once you get your AdSense publisher code, you can put it any of your websites without requiring further approval.

Don’t click on your own ads, or ask people to click, even if you are using proxies.
Don’t use click-bots.
Don’t encourage your visitors to click on ads. The only acceptable text is “Sponsored Links” and “Advertisements”.
Don’t put competitor contextual ads on the same page as your AdSense, for example: Yahoo Publisher Network, Clicksor. Non-contextual ads are ok.
Don’t put your ads on objectionable material, e.g. adult sites, gambling sites, mp3, etc.
Basically, don’t cheat AdSense. Google will catch you, sooner or later.
Viewing your on website will not get you banned. Just make sure you don’t click on the ads.
However, repeatedly reload your page to jack up page impressions can get you banned.
When in doubt don’t hesitate to contact the AdSense team. They are very helpful.
Choose a high paying niche without too much competition.
